The Paper

Welcome to The Choreologist. On this page you can read stories of a world that didn’t exist, of a world of which we are not sure where to put, other than in your digital and physical minds, by writing and sharing from it. In this world are tales and reports of a world in black and white where things which are the most real and in color, are the performances and shows of litterature, music, theatre, and dance. We see ourselves as an imaginary newspaper and (non-imaginary) dance company that focuses on writing, choreography, art and movement analysis, and plays with the newspaper genre.

The Authors

The Choreologist consists of different writers and characters that contribute together to the writings and content of the paper. Copyrights are all cleared where external material is used, and texts are all written by The Choreologist unless otherwise stated. Where texts are anonymously signed with letters or first names, the editor knows the identity of the author .

If you have any questions about copyright or fair use, please e-mail to post@thechoreologist.com

Dance Company

The dance company The Choreologist was established in 2018. The company concisted first of a collaboration between Julie Schartum Dokken, Susanne Brekka Djuma and Ingrid Sørensen, and later with the addition of dancer Martine Bentsen in 2022. The company is based in Oslo, Norway and perform their work nationally and internationally. The company’s work affect the pieces in this paper, and the writings of the paper affect the dance we make. The projects interact interchangeably.
